ABOUT RACING FOR HOPE
RACING FOR HOPE WAS CREATED BY Marc and Reneé Paul to benefit the City of Hope and its research for the answer to cancer.
Reneé and Marc's personal experience with cancer gave them a renewed passion, sense of purpose, and a point of reference from which to help people.
Together, Reneé, Marc, and SCI, in partnership with City of Hope, are committed to helping those who are diagnosed with cancer and to shine a spotlight on the many other types of cancer that don't receive the visibility, attention, or funding that breast and prostate cancer receive.
Racing for Hope was established as a direct result of Reneé and Marc’s commitment to help others. They partnered with City of Hope after touring their facility and seeing first-hand the all-inclusive medical community dedicated to the prevention, treatment, and cure of cancer. City of Hope’s programs treat the patients—not just the illness.
Our past three events were completely sold out! Each year event patrons, sponsors and over 300 attendees are treated to a thrill-filled day at the races and a superb luncheon in rooftop Frontrunners Restaurant. Reneé and Marc sincerely hope that you will join them at the track in 2010 to make it an equally exciting and successful event.
ABOUT THE BENEFICIARIES
In 2009, $75,000 was raised to further City of Hope's important research into pancreatic cancer, an aggressive disease that requires an aggressive, multidisciplinary approach to treatment.
In 2008, all proceeds from Racing for Hope went to the City of Hope Pediatric Center to further its research, treatment, and special programs for children battling cancer.
In 2007, Racing for Hope raised $150,000, which was awarded to Dr. Karen Aboody to further her research using gene therapy to treat primary and metastatic brain tumors.
